From THE ORIGINAL FOLKWAYS RECORDINGS were originally released as OLD TIME MUSIC AT CLARENCE ASHLEY'S, VOLS. 1 AND 2 (Folkways 2355 and 2359). The Band - When I paint my masterpiece
Переглядів 2,7 млн13 років тому
From their 1971's LP "Cahoots", one of the well known Bob's songs. Oh, the streets of Rome are filled with rubble Ancient footprints are everywhere You can almost think that you're seein' double On a cold, dark night on the Spanish Stairs Got to hurry on back to my hotel room Where I've got me a date with Botticelli's niece She promised that she'd be right there with me When I paint my masterpi...

My version of this famous standard, as played by Bob.... I love its! (But I belong to nobody, and nobody belong to me)
So very sorry, man. Nothing worse. Hugs.
Robbie passed away on my birthday. The legend of The Band keeps on living, however... No more Stage Fright in the heaven. "I'd rather die happy than not die at all."
Met the drummer, nice guy. Got this c.d. Great!
Beautiful.🌅
We paint our masterpiece in different ways. It can be our relationships with people or a great work of art.
Ah Levon……
Hey now. A good tune is a good tune. Thats the greatbthing about music
When in Rome
RIP Levon Helm
The Masterpiece is painted..oooh music...Amen Jesus..thank you boys!!!
A true masterpiece is drawn before it's painted🤘
Thanks to wendy and Axe for introducing me to this great song
he can hear the youth in tweedy's voice as he sings.
OHHHH THE STEEETS OF ROMEEE
I sing my 4 month old daughter to sleep with this side of cahoots religiously. Brings such a peace to us both. Love you guys.
I feel like this song is talkn bout death. Like the last brush stroke of his life and it's finished..... It's just beautiful.
❤❤❤Love The Band ❤❤❤ ….the land of Coca Cola will soon be no more very soon, judging by what’s going on right now.
The Band, The Dead and Dylan three masterpieces.
Who’s here because of Seth Rogan
Me
Marvelous lyrics and vocals by Levon and drums by Richard. BTW, that was misprinted: "...where I've got me a date with a pretty little girl from Greece." Listen again.
Josh Turner Sings This Song Way Better
No one can holler like Levon

Fete acompli Robbie. Graci.
Rest in Peace Robbie, Levon, Rick and Richard!
So beautifully pure!
Nostalgia ❤
Love richard Manuel's drumming
they'd backed him when he was booed and they'd let him record the basement tapes at their house, so it was no surprise that they covered him better than most.
What a time to be alive
John Prine tribute song by Dennis Callahan
Dylan owned the paint brush and paint. But the band put color to the canvas.
I am a screenwriter working on the first draft of a script entitled "The Accordionist" so I am seeking the coolest songs featuring the accordion. This is on all the lists so I will probably use this song in my story.
Garth Hudson rules! I wonder if he'd do an interview for your film. He was awesome at the Love for Levon concert in NJ!!
Sweet
This is exactly what bob dylan should have made a career of doing. He's a pretty good songwriter but he can't sing worth a flip.
Hey Barry, enjoyed this music, even had me two stepping.
The Band played Americana music before the genre had that tag. Add Dylan's song into the mix and its perfect.
i wrote this!
I wanna know more
This was my 21 year old son’s favorite song. , he took his life last summer , this song makes me miss him even more ….. I love you my son

😢 So sorry for your loss, ✌️♥️🎶🙏🥂 Here's to your son in heaven..
First heard Sam Stone on US forces radio Europe, went in to Glasgow to buy it, guy in the record shop had never heard of John Prine, tried to convince me it must have been Charlie Pride😂 Been a fan since the early 70's
The greatest singer/drummer in history and top 5 greatest American band and I know most are from Canada but we would probably never heard about The Band without Levon.
No more wars please give us a chance to help alot for those who are still young people
He is beautiful music value for us to hear from the past
I remember playing this exact youtube video over and over when I was 15 in my small Texas town. Now I'm 27 and listening to it while walking by the Colluseum in Rome at night.
I’m about to turn 26 and now i feel like i need to do this next year
